The Economics Society is the most active, dedicated and innovative academic society in Maitreyi. It comprises of students from all the years, giving it experience and freshness at the same time.
It is thoroughly engaged in various events like debates, quizzes, seminars and other interactive sessions throughout the year. The society members make it equally spirited and united.
The Economic Department has been responsible for holding some of the most successful fests in the college's history. From people battling their wits out in the debate to the exemplary efforts of teamwork shown in the treasure hunt round, the Eco Fest has always been one of the most highlighted events of the college!
OUR COLLEGE
The college has completed its glorious 50 years in January this year! It was named after Maitreyi, the wife of sage Yajnavalakya. Upanishads show Maitreyi as an empowered woman, making considered choices through knowledge. It has been the college's objective to weave these values into the fabric of the education system which is a blend of the best of tradition and modernity.
